H.B. Vidyapith is a senior secondary school affiliated to the CBSE. It is situated in Siliguri, in the foothills of the towering Himalayas. The people who established this school were or are renowned educationists and social workers of the city. The idea was to provide quality education to students coming from not so well off families.

Over the years the idea has not changed, it has developed. The school still caters to students from poor families. It still provides quality education. But developing on the idea, it now provides and in the future wishes to provide the best quality education with the help of state-of-the-art educational aids.

The school gives a lot of importance to co-curricular activities. Specialized training by people with relevant expertise in the relevant fields is one of the ideas that is being worked on. Self defense classes have been initiated. Plans are on to take that to a higher level with the active participation of all the students.

The school is providing new avenues for learning for the students. Book reading classes are to be a part of the initiative. Soft skills classes are to be introduced for the senior students to prepare them for the competitive world. The school organizes career counseling sessions for the students appearing in the Board Exams of class XII. The idea is to do that in a more elaborate way in the days to come.
